Youth Enrichment

We provide educational, cultural, and engaging programs for fatherless and/or struggling youth.

Youth Enrichment Programming

The Youth Enrichment Program focuses on teaching young men the path towards manhood, personal development, and community service. We develop self-confidence; teach skills on how to interact with authority figures such as parents, school officials, and the police; improve decision-making and communication skills; and increase youth awareness about substance use disorders.

Fathers’ UpLift utilizes the Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach (A-CRA) to serve youth ages 12 – 24. A-CRA is a federally approved evidence-based intervention developed to include a support structure for adolescents experiencing alcohol and drug abuse. The A-CRA model pulls on family, friends, and community members to provide age-appropriate communication skills and strategies to address substance use.

Based on the initial assessment and identified needs, Fathers’ UpLift’s clinicians apply the A-CRA procedures to address issues that arise in the lives of our youth and families. This model includes ongoing involvement with the parent and child at every phase of treatment while connecting the adolescent to the appropriate resources within the community.

Community Involvement

Our youth programming aims to support students in exploring their identities and what it means to be a member of a community while helping them discover the power to evaluate, build, and make changes in their community.

Additionally, we aim to educate and provide training geared towards substance use by developing a sense of responsibility, knowledge, and skillset amongst the youth we engage. The program enhances their understanding of substance use and overdose prevention and promotes teamwork, safety, leadership, and camaraderie.
