Therapy

Our Clinical Support program is the foundation on which we build the rest of our work.

Behavioral Health for Fathers and Families

This pillar is where Fathers’ UpLift began, providing clinical therapy services to men and families to help them navigate challenges related to parenting, healthy expression, relationships, and trauma.

The Fathers’ UpLift Family Group is a family of passionate and loving servants, consisting of experienced therapists who specialize in trauma, cognitive behavioral therapy, anger management, group counseling, individual counseling, and child & family counseling. Our clinicians provide ongoing therapeutic support to fathers and their children. Whether we are helping fathers strengthen their communication skills, identifying resources, or managing conflict, we are committed to helping fathers remain emotionally and physically present for themselves and their children.

The Fathers’ UpLift Family group:

Therapy Options

Individual Therapy

Fathers’ UpLift Family Group has brought together a group of therapist who are servants with experience in helping fathers and their families navigate the challenges they encounter that is related to parenting, trauma, depression, anxiety and domestic violence. We provide guidance to fathers entering fatherhood for the first time and fathers attempting to re-enter their children and families’ lives after years of separation. Also, we understand the need for support in dealing with relational stress between parents who are couples.

Family & Couples Therapy

Central to Fathers’ UpLift Family Group’s mission is the belief in family. Our aim is to assist fathers and mothers with developing a plan to communicate with one another in a manner that is healthy for their families. We have come across great parents who have been hurt numerous times. Without the necessary support, their hurt prevents them from remaining emotionally available to their children. Fathers’ UpLift Family Group understands the vital roles fathers and mothers play in the life of a child. Our family therapy services offer parents an opportunity to be heard and supported in a safe and friendly setting. We are advocates, listeners, and servants who believe in the family. Through the use of innovative therapeutic approaches that accommodate traditional talk therapy such as Pre-Father Care, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness and other Strength Based Approaches we are able to partner with families in their pursuit towards happiness.

Group Therapy

Imagine a group of individuals supporting one another in a peaceful setting. Fathers’ UpLift offers group therapy that is unique and inspirational. Whether you are interested in learning how to use your emotions to make a difference or trying to develop healthier ways to care for yourself, we have something special for you. Family Smiling

Our clinical services aim to support fathers in every aspect of their lives.

Scholar Stephen Baskerville said, “The myriad of personal and social challenges often experienced by high-risk fathers are often felt to be insurmountable, and without a support system in place they give up altogether, becoming absentee parents. When this happens, the consequences ripple through society, but nowhere are they felt as hard as by the children left behind. Virtually every major social pathology has been linked to fatherlessness: violent crime, drug and alcohol abuse, truancy, teen pregnancy, suicide – all correlate more strongly to fatherlessness than to any other single factor.”

You Are Not Alone

In a clip from a special two-hour episode of “Oprah’s Life Class” on fatherless sons, a dad named Dwayne revealed exactly why he had been absent from the lives of his children:

“The reason I walked away is because, at the moment, I wasn’t the man that I wanted to be for [my kids] … I put them on a higher pedestal than I put myself. So, at a point, I wasn’t worthy to be in their life because I wasn’t the man that I would want for them.”
