Development Director

About Christopher Haylett: Christopher Haylett joined Fathers’ Uplift in 2019. As the Development Director, Chris oversees all development efforts and the majority of external communications for the organization. This includes grant proposals, donor engagement, social media, digital content, and more.

Christopher’s Narrative: I grew up moving all over the place due to my dad’s role in the Air Force. I lived in four states and three foreign countries by the age of 15: Germany, New Mexico, California, the Azores, Virginia, Japan, and Washington. Diversity of perspectives, cultures, and experiences has always been something precious in my life because of this background. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Global Development Studies from Seattle Pacific University and an M.Sc. in International Business from Hult International Business School.

Pastor Richard Dahlstrom is someone that I look to as a personal role model. He led a reasonably large church community I formerly attended in Seattle, but he is strikingly humble and meek himself. To me, Richard is a great example of how a leader can delegate and empower others in a way that may take the spotlight off of oneself, but that elevates others to propel a larger mission beyond what any of us can accomplish individually.

I’m very proud of all of the clinical and coaching team staff here at Fathers’ Uplift. Being the “Development Guy,” I spend most of my time writing and sharing how significantly our organization impacts our community. They make my job easy by changing lives regularly in powerful ways. I am also proud of my wife, who is an articulate lawyer, a beloved and loving mom, and a fantastic co-adventurer. I am constantly amazed at how she balances all things in life.

If I could invite one person to dinner with my family, it would be a multitude of people, which would change every few months for me based on what I’m focused on at any given time. But, right now, I would probably say Andy Crouch, the author of a book called Culture Making. I am currently deeply fascinated by the study of how people can have an outsized influence on the culture, beliefs, and values of a society (just as Fathers’ Uplift hopes to). When I am not at Fathers’ UpLift, you can find me working on my startup, Sixpence; spending time with my wife and son; attending or volunteering at my church; enjoying the great outdoors (especially either in the mountains or in the water); and occasionally relaxing with some Xbox.
