Staff Narrative:

Born in Jackson, Mississippi, and raised by a single parent, Dr. Anthony Owens has been profoundly influenced by his upbringing to contribute significantly to public service, focusing particularly on underserved and disenfranchised populations. After spending a few years in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, he moved to Deltona, Florida, where he has lived most of his adult life.

Dr. Owens holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music from Tougaloo College, a Master of Education in Counselor Education from Southern University, and a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Administration from Nova Southeastern University. His professional background is diverse and extensive, encompassing work in foster care and adoption services, mental health counseling, community engagement, and higher education.

Dr. Owens’s experience has allowed him to serve and mentor countless young adults in student engagement, career and personal development, housing, leadership, and mentoring. His journey has imbued him with a passion for helping others, which he exercises fully at Fathers’ UpLift. He finds the organization to be a powerful resource for positively impacting men and their families.

Why Fathers’ UpLift? Dr. Owens values the organization’s dedication to serving underserved populations and its ability to make a significant positive impact on men and their families.

If I could invite anyone to dinner, it would be: My mother, who passed away when I was only two years old. My memories of her are limited, and the chance to spend time with her, exchanging life stories, would be a joy beyond measure.

When he’s not at Fathers’ UpLift, Dr. Owens enjoys engaging in community activities, mentoring young adults, and continuing his lifelong commitment to public service and education.

Stay up to date with FUL news and impact.
