Become a Mentor for Fathers’ UpLift’s USTR Fellowship

More than one-third of Americans about 122 million people live in areas with too few mental-health professionals. Fathers’ UpLift created the United States (USTR) Fellowship to help close that gap by preparing the next generation of therapists in mental health, behavioral health, and addiction services.

What Is the USTR Fellowship?

  • 14 second-year master’s students selected each spring

  • Accredited graduate programs across the United States

  • Required field practicum completed in partnership with Fathers’ UpLift

  • Intensive hands-on training, supervision, and community engagement

Every Fellow needs a seasoned professional to guide them. That’s where you come in.

Why Your Mentorship Matters

  1. Improve access to care. Helping students build real-world skills increases the number of ready-to-serve clinicians.

  2. Shape ethical practice. Share proven approaches in trauma-informed, person-centered care.

  3. Expand your influence. Mentors gain fresh perspectives, leadership experience, and lifelong professional connections.

  4. Give back with impact. One hour a week can change a student’s career and improve life for countless future clients.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Licensed mental-health, behavioral-health, or addiction professionals (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, LICSW, PsyD, PhD, MD, PMHNP, etc.)

  • Minimum two years of post-licensure experience

  • Commitment to meet with one Fellow for at least one hour per week during the academic year

  • Passion for guiding early-career clinicians

What Mentors Receive

  • CEU-eligible training sessions on effective supervision

  • A dedicated Fathers’ UpLift point of contact for support

  • Invitations to exclusive professional-development events

  • Public recognition on our website and social channels

  • The satisfaction of strengthening our nation’s behavioral-health workforce

How to Get Started

  1. Submit the mentor interest form on our website.

  2. Complete a brief screening interview.

  3. Match with a Fellow whose focus aligns with your expertise.

  4. Begin regular supervision sessions at a time that fits your schedule.

Ready to guide the therapists of tomorrow? Apply to be a USTR Fellowship Mentor today and help Fathers’ UpLift break cycles of intergenerational trauma through stronger, more accessible mental health care.
