Expanding Our Reach: Fathers UpLift Partners with New Profit for Greater Impact

Fathers UpLift, an organization committed to breaking down barriers and enhancing mental health equity among fathers, has been chosen as one of the select sixteen organizations to receive unrestricted funding and strategic support from New Profit. This pioneering venture philanthropy organization has been a transformative force for good, driving change, and increasing equity and opportunity across America.

A Proud Partnership:

Our partnership with New Profit isn’t just a milestone for us – it’s a giant leap forward in our mission. We believe this collaboration will provide us with a unique platform to amplify our efforts, empower more fathers, and make an even more significant positive impact on the families and communities we serve.

The Impact In Numbers:

Despite ongoing efforts, many children grow up in homes without their biological fathers. Reports by the National Fatherhood Initiative suggest that over 70% of African American children and 50% of Hispanic children fall into this category. Our mission is to change this narrative.

With the new resources provided by our partnership with New Profit, we’re setting an ambitious goal: to increase our service outreach by more than 30% within the coming year. By directly serving more fathers, we can contribute to better childhood outcomes, strengthen family units, and foster healthier communities.

The Driving Force: Our Services

Our core services at Fathers UpLift include providing mental health counseling, coaching, advocacy, and resource support. We’re committed to assisting fathers in overcoming barriers like systemic racism, emotional trauma, addiction, and other challenges that often prevent them from being actively involved in their children’s lives.

The expansion of our program capacity, courtesy of this partnership, will allow us to offer even more services and resources. This includes personal development initiatives and systemic advocacy programs to combat the broader issues affecting fathers.

Overcoming Societal Stereotypes:

Society often perpetuates stereotypes that dictate traditional gender roles in parenting, which can create barriers for fathers trying to be more involved. Mothers can be powerful allies in challenging these stereotypes by promoting a more equitable division of parenting responsibilities and advocating for fathers’ rights to be active and engaged parents. This support challenges societal norms, promotes equality, and helps create a more inclusive and understanding community for our children.

Recognizing New Profit’s Legacy:

New Profit’s dedication to advancing equity and opportunity since its founding in 1998 is truly remarkable. The organization has invested over $350M in more than 200 organizations and has been instrumental in unlocking over $1.9B in government funding for social innovation. We’re excited and honored to be a part of this transformative community.

Looking Forward:

As we embrace this exciting partnership with New Profit, we look forward to expanding our reach and deepening our impact on fathers and families nationwide. Our shared vision of a world where every Father can be actively involved in their children’s lives is now one step closer to reality.

We’re incredibly grateful for your ongoing support and are excited about the many new opportunities that lie ahead. Here’s to making a profound difference in the lives of fathers and families together.
