2023 USTR Fellow | Master of Social Work degree, Alabama A&M University

Camree Agee is a passionate and driven professional pursuing her Master of Social Work degree at Alabama A&M University in Huntsville, AL. With a deep-rooted commitment to helping individuals struggling with mental and behavioral health concerns, Camree has dedicated her academic and professional journey to making a positive impact on vulnerable populations.

Camree’s path in the field of social work was paved during her undergraduate studies at Troy University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. It was during this time that she developed a strong affinity for mental health and recognized the significance of providing support to those in need. Guided by her innate empathy and desire to alleviate suffering, Camree actively sought out opportunities to lend a helping hand and make a difference in the lives of others.

Hailing from Gadsden, Alabama, Camree’s commitment to her community runs deep. Over the years, she has invested her time and efforts in volunteer work and community development programs, further cementing her dedication to improving the well-being of those around her. Her experiences in these endeavors solidified her decision to pursue a career in clinical psychology, where she plans to merge her passion for mental and medical health into a comprehensive and holistic approach.

Camree’s vision for the future is to establish a nonprofit clinic in her community that offers integrated mental and medical health services to underserved populations. Recognizing the challenges and barriers that many individuals face in accessing quality care, she aspires to create a safe and inclusive space where individuals can receive the support they need to thrive. Through her nonprofit clinic, Camree hopes to address the critical gaps in mental and medical health services and provide a comprehensive and compassionate approach to healing.

In her current academic pursuits, Camree demonstrates a profound dedication to her studies and a genuine desire to enhance her knowledge and skills in social work. As a second-year graduate student, she actively seeks out opportunities for professional growth and engagement, eagerly immersing herself in coursework, research, and field experience.
