About: In 2023, Dr. Estaban Barreto further expanded his commitment to health equity and workforce diversity by joining Fathers’ UpLift. With strong ties to Puerto Rico, Dr. Barreto earned both his Master’s degree and Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Massachusetts, Boston.

With over a decade of experience, Dr. Barreto has led numerous research and quality improvement projects, focusing on areas such as patient experience, program evaluation, technology feasibility, education, and work culture. His current research primarily centers on health equity and workforce diversity, reflecting his deep commitment to addressing systemic inequities in healthcare.

Beyond his research, Dr. Barreto is actively engaged in teaching and supporting the career development of diverse faculty through ongoing mentorship. His work at Massachusetts General Hospital, where he plays a pivotal role in advancing health equity and fostering a diverse workforce, underscores his dedication to creating a more inclusive and equitable healthcare environment.

Dr. Barreto’s professional journey is marked by a relentless pursuit of excellence and a commitment to making a meaningful impact in the lives of others through both his research and mentorship.
