Drew Howerton

Development Associate

  • Drew Howerton on LinkedIn

Joined Fathers’ UpLift: 2022

Responsibilities: Drew works closely with the Development Director to seek and apply for grants, craft reports, engage donors, and create digital content to help grow Fathers’ UpLift’s reach and impact.

Role: As a Development Associate, Drew supports the organization’s fundraising efforts and helps communicate its mission to a broader audience.

Staff Narrative:

Drew hails from Berryville, Arkansas, and currently resides in Richmond, Virginia. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Harding University and a Master’s in Exercise & Nutrition Science from Lipscomb University. During graduate school, Drew joined the Development Team of one of his favorite nonprofits, Preemptive Love, where he helped raise funds and communicate with donors to support the organization’s international peacemaking efforts through relief, jobs, and community programming.

Having been affected by an incarcerated father himself, Drew is passionate about fatherhood, healthy masculinity, and the presence of dads in their children’s lives. He brings a strong background in fundraising, donor communication, reporting, and grant writing to Fathers’ UpLift, along with a holistic education in health.

Drew is proud to support Fathers’ UpLift’s efforts to reduce stigmas around mental health and help men who have faced systemic barriers overcome them. He believes in the power of community to help men show up fully alive and healthy in their lives and with their families.

Why Fathers’ UpLift? Drew is committed to supporting the organization’s mission to empower fathers and reduce mental health stigmas, driven by his personal experiences and professional expertise.

If I could invite anyone to dinner, it would be: Andy Grammer or Chris Evans. Drew admires them as advocates for healthy masculinity, joy, and standing up for others. They are prime examples of using one’s talents and platform for the good of humanity. Plus, they’re both hilarious and would make for great company.

When he’s not at Fathers’ UpLift, Drew enjoys spending time with family and friends, staying active, and exploring new interests and hobbies.

Stay up to date with FUL news and impact.
