Marketing & Operations Associate

  • George Akwasi-Oduro Boakye-Yiadom Sr. on LinkedIn

George, a native of Accra, Ghana, has a strong connection to his African origins, cultural background, and Ghanaian ancestry. In his youth, George relocated to the United States and spent his formative years in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He pursued higher education at Seton Hill University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Early Childhood Development.

Fathers’ UpLift is an organization that embodies a divine mission, and that is why George has joined their team. He is wholeheartedly committed to their vision and the transformative work they undertake. Being part of this incredible movement is a privilege for him. As a man of color and a father, George feels a personal obligation to offer resources and support to some of society’s most vulnerable members. This responsibility weighs heavily on him, but it is also emotionally fulfilling. He takes great pleasure in working in a capacity where he can both teach and learn from the young people in their community.

As George continues to develop professionally in the field of social work, he is eager to gain further experience from Fathers UpLift in areas such as community outreach, development, social-emotional learning, and overall social work practice. He envisions himself growing with this exceptional organization, both domestically and internationally, and one day using his skills to benefit children in his home country, Ghana.

The message George wants to share with the world is that a man without a plan lacks direction. Opportunities must be seized when they present themselves, or they may pass by. He is dedicated to supporting, uplifting, and spreading the vision and message of Fathers’ UpLift, step by step, by utilizing all available resources and opportunities to serve his community in any way necessary.

If George could invite one person to dinner, it would be his paternal grandfather, who was a chief in his village. He is curious to learn more about his village’s history and heritage. Outside of his work at Fathers’ UpLift, George cherishes spending time with his family and traveling the globe. His favorite destinations have been Greece, Portugal, Finland, Russia, and of course, Ghana.
