Natalie Zermeno

2023 USTR Fellow | Master of Social Work, Simmons University

Natalie Zermeno is a dedicated social work professional with a strong passion for advocating for marginalized communities and providing support to those in need. Currently pursuing her Master’s degree in social work and certificate in Mental Health Practice at Simmons University, Natalie is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of individuals and families.

In addition to her academic pursuits, Natalie is a Substance Use Disorder Professional Trainee (SUDPt) in Washington. With four years of counseling experience, she has worked extensively with diverse and marginalized communities. Her work has focused on providing guidance and support to individuals who were recently incarcerated, as well as families affected by substance use who are working towards reunification with their children. Natalie is fluent in Spanish and is dedicated to providing culturally sensitive services to Spanish-speaking clients.

Natalie’s primary goal is to address the inequity gap experienced by marginalized populations and ensure they have access to the social services they need. She is deeply committed to social justice and advocating for the rights of those who are often overlooked or underserved. Through her compassionate and client-centered approach to social work, Natalie seeks to empower individuals, advocate for their needs, and help them navigate the challenges they face.

Throughout her academic and professional journey, Natalie consistently stays informed about the latest research and evidence-based practices in the social work field. She believes in the importance of ongoing learning and professional development in order to provide the highest quality of care to her clients.

Natalie’s dedication to social work extends outside of her professional life. She actively engages in community service and volunteer work, collaborating with various organizations to support marginalized populations and make a positive impact in her community.

With her combination of education, experience, and passion, Natalie Zermeno is poised to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those she serves. Her commitment to social justice, cultural competency, and advocacy make her a valuable asset in the field of social work.
