Riddhi Ranjita

2024 USTR Fellow | Master of Social Work Degree, Hunter College

  • Riddhi Ranjita on LinkedIn

Riddhi Ranjita is a dedicated second-year Master of Social Work student who is inspired by the mission of Fathers’ UpLift to provide mental health resources to fathers and underserved communities. Her commitment to breaking the cycle of fatherlessness aligns with her passion for helping individuals and families navigate emotional challenges and foster healthier relationships.

Envisioning her role within the United States Therapist Recruitment Fellowship, Riddhi aims to offer compassionate and culturally sensitive therapy to empower fathers in their emotional journeys. She believes that through supporting fathers, she can contribute to stronger family dynamics and improve mental health outcomes in the community.

Riddhi’s strengths include her growing empathy, active listening, and cultural sensitivity, which she is developing through her academic studies and early experiences in social work. She is deeply committed to creating safe, non-judgmental spaces where clients feel heard and respected, believing that true healing begins with understanding each person’s unique story.

Her journey toward a career in therapy has been significantly influenced by her upbringing in the South Asian community, where she witnessed the stigma surrounding mental health. This experience ignited her passion for advocating mental health awareness and creating supportive environments for those who have historically been marginalized.

Riddhi considers her “secret sauce” to be her cultural sensitivity, which allows her to create inclusive therapeutic spaces that honor clients’ diverse backgrounds. As she embarks on her journey as a therapist, she is excited about the potential connections she can foster and the meaningful impact she can have on those seeking support.

In addition to her studies, Riddhi actively engages in volunteer work, including her internship with the Salvation Army and participation in fundraising initiatives like the Red Kettle Program. A proud moment from her volunteer experience was witnessing the positive impact of their fundraising efforts, reinforcing her belief in community involvement and inspiring her future career in therapy.

With a strong commitment to social justice and empowerment, Riddhi Ranjita looks forward to making a lasting difference in the lives of individuals and families, helping them build resilience and navigate their mental health journeys with compassion and support.
