Our Team

Robin Turner

Male Engagement Intern

I grew up in Dorchester, Massachusetts, and attended Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, North Carolina. I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a minor in Sociology in 1988. Yes, that was a long time ago. I have experience working with children who have been physically, emotionally, and psychologically abused by adults. I had also worked with children in various daycare centers as an infant/toddler teacher in 2003. From 1990 to 1997, I worked in residential settings. I’ve always worked in the caring profession.

There isn’t just one person who positively influences me. Truthfully, I am influenced by anyone who has thought about the life and well-being of others, especially our most vulnerable people like newborn babies, people with special needs, the elderly, and those that are mistreated because of their race, ethnicity, and religious background. The kind of person I would look up to as a role model would be a humanitarian who doesn’t do things for recognition but from a place deep within their heart.

I am proud of so many people, my family, and my husband. My daughter Chantae was working for a security company. Recently, she took a leap of faith and quit her job to start a real estate company. My son Shaquan has dyslexia and had struggled in elementary school but has graduated with honors from high school. Now, he attends the University of New Hampshire. He has excellent management skills and customer service skills like his father. My daughter Mi’Ana is a talented singer and fantastic writer who brings happiness to people as she is our little inspiration and gleam of light.

The person I would invite to dinner would be Denzel Washington. I admire him as a person with integrity and honor, and compassion for life and people. He is an awesome actor. When I am FUL with everything and everyone, I like to take the time and listen to spirituals, some R&B, and definitely, binge-watch Grey’s Anatomy.

Stay up to date with FUL news and impact.
