Joined Fathers’ UpLift: 2023

Responsibilities: Zack manages the program staff and ensures the effective delivery of services to fathers and their families.

Role: As the Senior Program Director, Zack plays a pivotal role in overseeing the implementation of programs, fostering a supportive environment, and driving the mission of Fathers’ UpLift.

Staff Narrative:

Hailing from Northern Virginia, Zack Osheroff embarked on his educational journey at Brandeis University, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Philosophy. He then pursued his Master’s in Social Work at Simmons University. Before officially joining Fathers’ UpLift in 2023, Zack had the privilege of serving on the organization’s board for ten years, deeply understanding its mission and values.

Zack’s professional background includes a fulfilling tenure at a youth mentoring organization, where he began as a mentor and rose to a supervisory position, leading family engagement initiatives. He also served as the Chair of the Board of Fathers’ UpLift and worked as the Assistant Program Director of Evaluation at Friends of the Children-Boston. These roles have been significant milestones in his career, showcasing his dedication to supporting youth and families.

What makes Fathers’ UpLift unique for Zack is the organizational culture built around giving men the opportunity to aid each other through peer support, coaching, and therapy. This strong sense of camaraderie and mutual upliftment is truly inspirational to him.

Why Fathers’ UpLift? Zack values the culture of mutual support and the opportunity to help men uplift each other, which aligns with his professional and personal philosophy.

If I could invite anyone to dinner, it would be: Paulo Freire, a towering figure in education and social philosophy. His insights into pedagogy have greatly influenced Zack’s work, and he would find it fascinating to converse with him.

When he’s not at Fathers’ UpLift, Zack enjoys spending time with his family, exploring new ideas in social philosophy, and engaging in community activities that promote mutual support and development.
