Direct Service

Our Direct Service program is the foundation on which we build the rest of our work.

Behavioral Health for Fathers and Families

At Fathers’ UpLift, we are a dedicated team of passionate therapists, coaches, and peer workers—united in the mission to uplift fathers and their families. Our commitment extends beyond simply providing support; we partner with fathers to enhance their communication skills, identify valuable resources, and effectively manage conflicts. Together, we focus on ensuring that fathers remain physically and emotionally present for themselves and their children. Our work extends to mothers and youth within these families, guaranteeing that every member receives the support they need when needed.

Options for Care

Individual Therapy

Our skilled clinicians are here to support fathers through the complexities of parenting, trauma, and substance use. Whether you’re stepping into fatherhood for the first time or striving to reconnect with your children after a period of separation, we guide you on your journey. Our therapy sessions offer a safe space to unpack your feelings and experiences, helping you realize your potential as a loving and engaged father.

Family & Couples Support

We understand that healthy relationships are the bedrock of family life. That’s why we offer tailored support for couples, helping fathers and mothers navigate relational stress and enhance communication. We recognize both parents’ crucial roles in a child’s life, and our sessions allow both voices to be heard and valued in a nurturing environment.

Group Support

Imagine a supportive community where fathers connect, share, and uplift one another. Our unique group sessions, which range from 12 to 18 weeks and are focused on managing emotions, parenting, recovery, and reentry, create a space for individuals to engage in meaningful conversations, share experiences, and foster resilience. For those with busy lives, we also offer self-guided options for group sessions, ensuring that everyone can participate and benefit, regardless of their schedule.

Coaching Services

To complement our therapeutic offerings, we provide coaching services designed to help you tackle external challenges that may hinder your ability to meet basic needs—such as food, clothing, shelter, and access to resources. Our compassionate coaches, who include experienced fathers and advocates, work alongside you to manage the pressures of fatherhood, advocate for more time with your children, and realize the father you aspire to be.

Youth Enrichment Programming

Our Youth Enrichment Program is dedicated to fostering personal development and a spirit of community service among young people. We instill self-confidence, teach effective communication with authority figures, enhance decision-making skills, and promote awareness around substance use and recovery. Through the Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach (A-CRA), an evidence-based intervention, we engage families and communities to provide young people with strategies and skills essential for a healthy and fulfilling life.

Our direct services aim to support fathers in every aspect of their lives.

Scholar Stephen Baskerville said, “The myriad of personal and social challenges often experienced by high-risk fathers are often felt to be insurmountable, and without a support system in place they give up altogether, becoming absentee parents. When this happens, the consequences ripple through society, but nowhere are they felt as hard as by the children left behind. Virtually every major social pathology has been linked to fatherlessness: violent crime, drug and alcohol abuse, truancy, teen pregnancy, suicide – all correlate more strongly to fatherlessness than to any other single factor.”

You Are Not Alone

In a clip from a special two-hour episode of “Oprah’s Life Class” on fatherless sons, a dad named Dwayne revealed exactly why he had been absent from the lives of his children:

“The reason I walked away is because, at the moment, I wasn’t the man that I wanted to be for [my kids] … I put them on a higher pedestal than I put myself. So, at a point, I wasn’t worthy to be in their life because I wasn’t the man that I would want for them.”
